Flower Girl ...

Happy New Year every body, I could have posted something but wanted to start the year with a bang. A new song, the inspiration to write it happened last October but could not finish it for the last few months. One fine morning I woke up with a lingering thought about her and every thing fell into the place. Enjoy ...

She has a smile like the sun so bright

She is a poet’s delight

She moves like a breeze, taking away my peace

I can’t even stop to sneeze

One day walking down the lane

I don’t know from where she came

The flower girl so full of life

Drives me to drown in her tide

Her eyes are like the embers of sky

It makes me want to fly

She talks like a child, it drives me wild

I can’t even stop to breathe

One day walking down the lane

I don’t know from where she came

The flower girl so full of life

Drives me to drown in her tide

Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.

Gud one..!!

"I can’t even stop to sneeze "
why would u want to sneeze? I mean who sneezes while seeing a woman ? :P

@sophie: What about one sided love ?!I think people with a broken heart make better poets ... :)

@paromita: well read the line "I can't even stop to sneeze" ... sneezing is kind of an totally involuntary action... so the protagonist of the song is so engrossed in the girl that even an involuntary action can't be performed by him... understood or do I need to elucidate it further? :)

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a love sickness. So it could be anyone...

take it in a positive stride.. but you have just written a nursery rhyme but for ..grown ups..!! :)

@sophie: right ... the inspiration can be either be pain or joy but the energy is certainly the energy of love... love for someone, love for nature ... :)

@gautam: what made you think I will take it in a wrong stride :P

I wonder how it would read if you don't make the lines rhyme.I mean sometimes we bind ourselves in rules and lose some of what we wanted to say.But then you may have written it without feeling constrained. It's certainly possible.

Dutta said...

@ Ankita : true ..as I was writing a song it was more kind of necessary to keep the structure; A poem is more unconstrained ... And yes feelings were not constrained ...

The beauty of a poem is that it is more beautiful than the poet since it is written in a moment of inspiration, which is ephemeral.
Your earlier posts were better.

@Nidz: If seen as a poem, the earlier posts were certainly better but this is a song; only if I could have put in the tune with the words .. :)
